This paper focuses on the information needs of the girl child; and the sources of meeting these information needs. It also highlights some factors that affect the girl child in her information seeking behavior. Some of these factors are socio-economic, biological/hereditary among others. Such problems pose barriers and challenges to the information needs of the girl child. The paper ended with recommendations on how the government can assist both the girl child and her parents to mould her into a fulfilled woman that can contribute meaningfully to the society.en_US
